Building Structure Modeling Guide

Overview

In our structural modeling system, the entire building and all free construction elements are unified in a single model. Every component (like a wall post) has the full capabilities of a free construction component. While this flexibility is powerful, efficiency comes from using inputs tailored to each component's specific context.

Input Optimization

For example, why enter complex 3D coordinates for a wall post when it's always perpendicular to the wall and parallel to its outer surfaces? Simply entering the longitudinal dimension along the wall is sufficient. These specialized input options are organized into building modules.

Available Building Modules

1. Floor Plan (Option: 1-2-1)

• Enter walls, windows, and doors in the floor plan view

2. Wall Design (Option: 1-2-2)

• Insert bars and panels into walls

• Adjust layer contours of walls

3. Floor Decks (Option: 1-2-3)

• Define ceiling levels across different floors

• Apply finishes to ceilings

• Option to adopt floor plan contours

4. Floor Design (Option: 1-2-4)

• Create and edit structural ceiling components

• Add and modify ceiling planking with detailed options

5. Roof Calculation (Option: 1-2-5)

• Create house contours by:

  • Importing floor plans

  • Using tabular input

  • Using graphical input

• Assign roof attributes for automatic calculation

• Apply profile values and slope changes to each contour line

• Automatic transfer of roof determination

6. Roof Design (Option: 1-2-6)

• Access detailed roof design features

7. Dormer Design (Option: 1-2-7)

• Center dormers and enter dormer structure

• Create main roof openings

• Add dormer walls

8. Truss Design (Option: 1-2-8)

• Enter truss structures using vertical and free planes

• Ideal for trusses, brackets, posts, and similar timber structures

9. D-CAM: Free Design (Option: 1-2-9)

• Create new components from scratch

• Further edit components created in other building modules

• Provides maximum flexibility for custom input

01. Horizontal Statics (Option: 1-0-1)

• Analyze and calculate horizontal static forces

Navigation

• Each building reopens in the building module that was last edited

• New buildings automatically open in the Floor Plan building module

• Switch between building modules using the "File Operations - Building Module" menu

• Use the options listed above for quick navigation between modules
