Shell Opening

Reference for dimensions : The opening can be measured either using the shell opening or the frame dimensions. The clearance plays a role here, which can be entered further down in the 'Clearance, Wall Stop' field. The clearance is the difference between the shell opening and the frame dimensions.

Reference for parapet and lintel height : A reference height can be selected here for the height position of the opening:

UK current floor : The parapet and lintel height is positioned relative to the bottom edge of the current floor.

Floor structure top edge : At the opening, the nearest ceiling is located near the bottom edge of the current floor. The parapet and lintel heights are measured relative to the top edge of the floor structure.

Sill height/threshold height : The height of the opening can be determined using the sill height (window) or the sill height (door), or the lintel height. Only one of these two values ​​can be entered. If you want to enter the other value but its field is disabled, delete the contents of the active field and confirm with <Enter>. The other field then becomes active, and the previously active field is disabled. The sill height/threshold height determines the height position of the lower edge of the opening relative to the reference height selected above.

Headroom height : The headroom height is the height of the top edge of the opening relative to the reference height selected above. This value can be entered alternatively to the parapet height by deleting the parapet height and confirming the empty field.

Width, height, etc .: This geometric data describes the geometry of the shell opening. For more complex shapes, multiple combinations are possible. The white fields are entered, and the gray fields are displayed as the result. If a value is unknown, the fields can be revealed by deleting the values.

Construction Recess : This value allows the construction to be moved backward from the visible side of the wall. This allows the depth position of the construction to be adjusted as desired.

Air, Wall Stop : This list allows you to select a setting for air and wall stop. You can check and change the setting using the icon on the right.

Reveal : This list allows you to select a setting for the reveal boards. You can check and change the setting using the icon on the right.
