Sorting of elements

When sorting components, it can be determined that sorting is necessary because the change to a component is clearly recognizable. This is not possible with elements, because the element can change without changing the sequence number of its components, for example, if a component is simply moved. On the other hand, sorting the elements after each change would lead to performance issues. Therefore, sorting the elements may have to be triggered manually.

The element sorting can be called in any model area using the 1-8-6 Element Sorting function. According to the note in the following dialog, all elements in all model areas are always sorted, regardless of the model area you are in.

If the components are sorted manually or automatically, the elements are also automatically sorted. The notification dialog does not appear. This ensures the correctness of the element numbers after the components have been sorted.
