Batten Points

In this function, one "batten point for batten division" can be set per roof surface for the division of battens (along the rafters). These batten points have the highest priority for batten spacing. If such a batten point exists on a roof surface, the division originates from that point.

With a batten point, the batten spacing can be aligned to any desired point, e.g., the edge of an opening or a dormer wall. This point defines the position of the top edge of a batten. It is also important that this method allows adopting the position of a batten from another roof surface. In this way, rows of tiles running exactly at the same height can be produced even with different roof pitches.

When the function is called, all existing batten points are displayed as blue dotted lines on the roof surfaces. Then the roof surface and the batten point for that roof surface are queried alternately until the function is terminated with the right mouse button. After selecting the roof surface, the batten point can be determined by 2 methods: If a batten from another roof surface is picked, the global height of the top edge of that batten is transferred to the roof surface. If no other batten is picked, any point can be chosen. This point is projected vertically onto the underside of the batten layer and a distance can be specified. This distance is measured along the rafters within the roof surface.

Since each roof surface can have only one batten point, it is automatically deleted when a new point is entered. Likewise, all batten points are deleted when the roof layout is recalculated.
