Weld Symbols
Steel structures are frequently used in timber construction, for example to carry heavy loads over large spans or in node constructions. The most common connection in steel structures is welds; the documentation of welds is done on drawings with weld symbols, for example according to DIN EN ISO 2553. Weld symbols are complex in structure; the new input functions for weld symbols, which are part of the module "Steel connections for timber construction", enable effective planning and creation.
The dialog allows the following elements to be defined for the weld symbol:
Text style of the labeling: In addition to font and size, this also defines the shape of the leader line and the arrow.
The basic form (fillet weld, V-weld, etc.) and the surface form (flat, convex, etc.) are represented symbolically.
Additional symbols for site and all-around welds can be applied optionally.
Textual entries such as dimensions are possible before and after the basic symbols.
All entries can be defined for one- or two-sided welds. Accordingly, an additional dashed reference line is generated.
An additional multi-line text block is output behind a corresponding fork if applicable.
The setting for the weld symbol can be saved and managed. Quick access via favorites, transferring to other building positions, or exchanging with other users is thus possible in the usual manner.
The function for entering weld symbols is available in the drawing program and in the model areas with drawing elements.
Thus, for example, weld symbols can also be generated directly in the ceiling construction or in the bar structure. These are then transferred to derived drawings and will not be forgotten when re-depositing.
