Edit or Modify Labels
Edit
The 'Edit' function allows labels on a drawing to be edited (change the text). The program accurately detects whether the label was created as a single-line or multi-line label and automatically opens the corresponding dialog box. In each case the same dialog box that was used when creating the text is opened. Therefore, both the text itself and the formatting via the text style can be changed.
There is, however, a special case when positioning. Using the right mouse button, you can cancel the positioning; in that case the text is inserted at its previous location.
Modify
The 'Modify (Labels)' function allows the formatting of one or more labels to be changed. In the upper and lower areas of the dialog box you have the same configuration options as in the dialog box for text styles. This makes it possible to assign a different setting to an individual label than is defined in the text style. In the topmost drop-down list you can also directly select a different text style.
At the lower end of the upper area of the dialog box there are settings that are only created when the label is generated. Therefore they are not related to the text style. The following settings can be changed there:
Layer: This displays the layer to which the selected labels belong. By changing the layer, all selected labels are assigned to the new layer.
Text was created: The program can distinguish whether a label originates from an external file from the CAD program or was entered manually in the drawing program. This information is used when inserting another external file into the same view window. With the 'Drawing Program' version of the software, you can set there whether the content of the view window should be completely cleared before inserting, only the elements from an external file, or nothing at all. This can be manipulated by changing the assignment of individual elements here.
Any number of labels can be selected at once for modification. When several labels are selected, it may quickly happen that some of the labels have different settings for one or more options. Since the program can display only one setting per option, three asterisks (***) appear in the affected field. This immediately indicates that the selected labels have different settings in that field. As long as you do not change the setting in such a field, the individual labels retain their respective settings. However, once you change the setting, all selected labels receive the new setting.
