Move Labels
Move label
The “Move (label)” function allows one or more label texts to be moved. If a label text that was created as a single-line label is selected, it will again be attached by its lower-left corner to the crosshair. If, instead, a multi-line label text is selected, the nine positioning points reappear as small dots on the drawing. After selecting one of these points, the label text is attached to the crosshair by that point and can be relocated and repositioned.
When multiple label texts are selected at once, the first-selected text determines the subsequent behavior. If this is a single-line text, it is attached by its lower-left corner to the crosshair and all other texts are moved together. If the first-selected label text is a multi-line text, one of the nine positioning points can be chosen again.
During the move operation, the orientation of the texts is rotated in 90° increments using the space bar. The rotation is performed counterclockwise and can be repeated until the orientation is correct.
The rotation option is available for both single-line and multi-line texts and labels.
Therefore, editing the text does not need to be invoked for rotation.
In dynamic drawings, texts can be rotated in this way without disabling the insertion dynamics. When the drawing is recalculated, the rotation for texts and labels is preserved, and the displacement is preserved as well.
All input and snap functions are available for placing label texts.
During this movement, the reference point retains its position and the reference line continuously adapts to the new position of the label text. The reference point can be moved separately with the next function.
Move reference point
The “Move reference point” function allows the reference point of a label to be moved. To do this, select the label text whose reference point is to be moved. Immediately thereafter, the reference point of that label is attached to the crosshair and can be repositioned. During this process the reference line continuously follows, allowing you to see immediately how the reference line will appear after placing the reference point.
