Automatic Connection of Posts to Sill and Plate

Previously, the upper and lower layer contour of layer 0 (= layer with the components) was shifted inward up to the bottom edge of the lowest beam and the top edge of the uppermost sill. This limited the length of the posts. However, this method had its limitations and repeatedly caused problems. Therefore it was changed.

Now the upper and lower layer contour remain at the top edge of the uppermost beam and the bottom edge of the lowest sill. The posts must therefore shorten themselves automatically based on other information. The connection to the sills shall serve as an example:

  • The post "detects" that it ends exactly at the bottom edge of a sill and shortens itself to the top edge of that sill.

  • If, at the new position of the post end, the bottom edge of another sill is again located exactly there, it shortens itself again up to the top edge of that sill.

  • This analysis is performed with up to three sills. From version 16.03 onward, an arbitrary number of sills or beams are taken into account.

  • If the post does not end exactly at the bottom edge of a sill because the sill is slightly displaced, then it is ignored and the post is not shortened.
