Move, Modify, Delete Windows, Doors

Doors, windows - Move

Using the functions 'Move doors' and 'Move windows' you can move doors and windows afterwards. After selecting the window or door, choose a reference point and then a target point. A dialog box then opens showing the distance between the two points. The distance can be changed or simply confirmed. If you want to move the window by an exact measure, select the same point for the base and the target point.

Doors, windows - Modify

Using the functions 'Modify doors' and 'Modify windows' you can modify doors and windows afterwards. After selecting the window or door, the same dialog box appears as when creating the opening. Any value can be changed.

An existing window (door) can be conveniently adjusted by loading a new configuration, for example the sash arrangement. If a new configuration is loaded into an existing window (door), Modify certain values in the Rough opening dialog should be retained and not taken from the new configuration. The following rules have been implemented for this purpose:

▪ The formulas for values are always overwritten with the new formula. If the new configuration has no formula, any existing formula will be deleted.

▪ Values for BH, SH, B and H (and all other values that define the shape) that were entered manually are retained.

▫ There was previously no formula.

▫ Or there was a formula but the value was manually overridden. This is indicated by the red background of the input field.

▪ Either BH (parapet height) or SH (lintel height) is a calculated value.

▫ If the same value is recalculated in the new configuration, it will be recalculated after import. The other value remains unchanged.

▫ If in the new configuration the other value is calculated (e.g., BH instead of SH), then both values are discarded. According to the new configuration, one is overwritten and the other recalculated.

▪ Import of windows and doors via IFC: an assignable configuration is applied in this case.

▫ Values from IFC are fundamentally treated like manually entered values. Any formula from the configuration remains, however the value is overwritten (red background).

▫ The configuration defines whether BH or SH should be calculated, since this information cannot be derived from IFC.

▪ If the 'Reference for dimensions' or 'Reference for parapet and lintel height' changes due to the new configuration, the values generally cannot be retained; the existing configuration will be completely overwritten and the old dimensions lost.

Doors, windows - Delete

These functions allow individual window and door openings to be deleted.
