Chimney Input
The 'Chimney' function allows chimneys to be defined in various ways. The dialog box consists of two sub-dialog boxes.
Chimney:
Ident number: An identification number can be entered for the chimney. These can be components of the component type 'rod' or 'profile rod'. If the identification number includes a profile, the chimney receives that exact cross-section profile. This allows, for example, original chimney cross-sections from any manufacturer to be entered and displayed.
Length: If an identification number that provides a cross-section was used, this field is disabled. Otherwise, the longer edge of the chimney can be entered. In this direction the flues are also distributed when more than one flue is specified.
Width: If an identification number that provides a cross-section was used, this field is disabled. Otherwise, the shorter edge of the chimney can be entered.
Bottom Edge Height: Height at which the chimney begins. Offset chimneys can be created by first entering the lower section and then, offset, the upper section. The upper section begins at the height where the lower section ends.
Top Edge Height: Absolute height at which the chimney ends.
Chimney Height: Height of the chimney from its bottom edge to the top edge. This value can be entered as an alternative to the 'Top Edge Height'.
Height Above Roof: Distance by which the chimney protrudes above the roof covering. This value can be used as an alternative to 'Top Edge Height' or 'Chimney Height'. To access a disabled field, delete one of the two higher values (Top Edge Height, Chimney Height).
Number of Flues: If an identification number was used, this field is disabled. Otherwise, 0, 1 or 2 flues can be set. The flues serve only for the visually improved representation of the chimney. The flues are automatically distributed evenly along the chimney length.
Flue Diameter: Enter the desired diameter of the flues.
Texture set: Texture set for the representation of the chimney.
Rafter Replacements: In this field you select a setting for the automatic replacement of rafters. Using the edit icon at the right end of the field you can view and change the setting.
Tie Beam/Brace Replacements: In this field you select a setting for the automatic replacement of tie beams and braces. Using the edit icon at the right end of the field you can view and change the setting.
Beam Layer Replacements: In this field you select a setting for the automatic replacement of the beam layers. Using the edit icon at the right end of the field you can view and change the setting.
Sheathing:
Roof Layers / Beam Layers: Sheathing for the individual layers in the roof surfaces and the ceiling fields.
Tie Beams / Braces: Separate sheathing for the tie beams and braces.
Tolerance: A tolerance can be set for each chimney to determine whether a rafter, a brace or a ceiling beam is replaced even if it penetrates the opening. If an element protrudes into the opening by no more than the set tolerance, it will not be replaced.
The 'OK' button places the chimney; the 'Align' button additionally aligns it obliquely to any chosen line.
With the following dialog box the chimney can be rotated by 90° with the right mouse button. When placing, any point can be chosen using all known snap and input functions (snap functions with the middle mouse button, coordinate entries via numeric input).
