Chimney - Rafter Replacement

At the top edge of the dialog box there is again the option to save the dialog box settings under any desired name. Under this name the setting can then be selected and used in the chimney input.

Any number of rafter replacements can be stored in a single setting. However, this is only sensible if replacements are required in different positions. To switch from one replacement to the next, click the wide switch with double arrows at both ends. In the center of the switch you can see how many replacements exist in the current setting (right number) and which of these replacements you are currently viewing (left number). This provides the option to define replacements for multiple rafter positions within one roof.

Position: In this field, select the position in which the replacement shall be created.

Ident number: Enter the identification number of the replacement timbers and filler timbers here, or set the check mark in the checkbox at the right end of the field. If you enable this checkbox, the identification number field is deactivated because the identification number of the replaced rafters is then automatically adopted.

Width: Enter the width of the replacement timbers and filler timbers here, or set the check mark in the checkbox so that the width is adopted from the replaced rafters.

Height: Enter the height of the replacement timbers and filler timbers here, or set the check mark in the checkbox so that the height is adopted from the replaced rafters.

Depth position: This field allows the depth position of the replacement and filler timbers within the above-selected position to be influenced. With the options 'flush top', 'flush bottom' and 'center', the replacement timbers can be positioned automatically in the position accordingly. With the 'value' the timbers can be positioned freely and even pushed out of the position.

Orientation: The orientation of the replacement and filler timbers tilts the timbers in line with the roof slope or installs them plumb in the roof.

Replacement direction: For chimneys that are installed skew to the rafters, it can be specified here whether the replacements should still be generated parallel to the chimney (= skew to the rafters) or whether they should continue to be generated perpendicular to the rafters.

Connection: Connection between the replacement timbers and the rafters. It is possible to select between the stored settings of different joint treatments.
