Point Cloud

What are the system requirements when working with point clouds?

For calculating the large amounts of data, sufficient working memory should be available. Depending on the file size of the e57 file, i.e., the number of points, sufficient storage space on the system hard drive is also required for writing a swap file. The display takes place in the Open-GL workspace, whereby the performance of the graphics card has a massive influence on performance. The processor of the hardware is also heavily used by the calculation of filters. In total, the complete setup should be powerful to offer sufficient performance even with large point clouds.

What are orthophotos and how can they be created?

An orthophoto is the orthogonal image of a selected area of a point cloud. The display of the point cloud using orthophotos takes place in 2D. Orthophotos can be displayed in the following areas: Floor plan, basic views, views and sections, roof layout, wall construction

The point cloud setting can be found in the respective model area under -Point cloud settings- (1 - 2 – 04). The setting "Generate orthophoto" must be activated here.

Can orthophotos be stored on the plan?

Can an image be created from DICAM with point cloud?

The point cloud is not visible

With the function File – Model area – Show/hide point cloud 1 - 2 – 05 the right icon, the point cloud can be shown and hidden. The point cloud is generally only visible in the OpenGL workspace. Additionally, in the display under -Building/Plan elements current floor-, the setting for images must be set.

Where are orthophotos saved?

The orthophotos are saved in the building so that they are also visible without a connected point cloud. This way, users without the point cloud module or without the corresponding e57 file or scene can continue working on the project with orthophotos. Recalculation is not possible.

Import / Export

How do you import DWG/DXF files?

DWG and DXF files can be read in all model areas under 1-04-1.

The imported DWG/DXF is not visible in another model area?

In the display settings, the floor in which the DWG and DXF files were imported must be activated under Floor list / Floor plan information.

Which formats can be imported?

Which formats can be exported?

What is the D-Cloud?

The D Cloud is a mode for data storage in which digital data is stored on the server. Email attachments are placed directly in the Dietrich's Cloud after packing, and a link for accessing them is generated. The link is located in the generated email and additionally in the clipboard to pass it on in another form.

When trying to upload a file to the D-Cloud, an error message appears: "Error creating directory"

Rendering - Visualization

What is the 3D WebViewer?

With the 3D Web-Viewer module, Dietrich's projects or components can be visualized and thus made available to external or internal project participants in the form of an HTML file.

Does the 3D WebViewer also work on Apple devices?

The HTML files can be opened both in the Apple browser Safari as well as in all other common web browsers.

How long are the files available in the cloud?

The files are temporary for storage space reasons and available for 30 days.

Are there other possibilities for visualization?
