Free Opening - Stair Opening
The "Stair Opening" function allows openings for purlin and collar beam layers to be defined. This stair opening does not have a height or a height position; it automatically creates only an opening in purlin and collar beam layers. Ridge purlins and rafters are not altered by this.
Length: Here the longer edge of the stair opening can be entered.
Width: This is the shorter edge of the stair opening.
Clearance around the opening: Around the opening a clearance can be entered, similar to the surrounding for a chimney.
Tolerance: A tolerance can be set for the stair opening to determine whether a purlin or a collar beam is replaced even though it penetrates the opening. If an element protrudes into the opening by no more than the configured tolerance, it will not be replaced.
Purlin replacements: In this field you select a setting for the automatic replacement of tie beams and braces. Using the edit icon at the right end of the field you can view and change the setting.
With the 'OK' button the stair opening can be placed; with the 'Align' button it can additionally be skewed to align with any chosen line.
Using the following dialog box the opening can be rotated by 90° with the right mouse button. When placing, any point can be chosen with all known snap and input functions (snap functions on the middle mouse button, coordinate input via numeric entry).
