Move Dimension Chains
The slide functions allow individual dimensions or entire dimension chains to be shifted perpendicular to the dimension line. The following functions are available:
Single
Using the 'Single (move dimension)' function, a single dimension from a dimension chain can be moved.
Range
The 'Range (move dimension)' function shifts a portion (=range) of a dimension chain. The range is selected by clicking two dimension guide lines.
Entire chain
The 'Entire Chain (move dimension)' function moves the selected dimension chain completely.
Straighten
With the 'Single' and 'Range' slide functions, parts of a longer dimension chain can be pushed out of the chain. The 'Straighten' function allows the individual parts of the dimension chain to be pulled back onto a single line. To do this, click the part of the dimension chain whose 'height' should be applied to the other parts. All dimensions of the chain will then lie on one line again, as when the chain was created.
Collect
The 'Collect' function can pull multiple dimension chains onto one line. First, you must click the reference dimension chain whose height the other chains should adopt. Afterwards you can click any number of other dimension chains. These must be parallel to the first chain. Each parallel chain clicked will immediately be moved to the height of the first chain.
Dimension text
The 'Dimension Text (move)' function allows a single dimension text to be moved. This displacement remains even if the entire chain is moved afterwards.
Rotate
The 'Rotate (dimension numbers)' function can only be applied to intermediate dimensions (relative dimension chains), not to overall dimensions. The dimension numbers of intermediate dimensions can be displayed parallel or perpendicular to the dimension line, depending on the situation. The dimension chain independently decides how the numbers should be displayed. There may be situations where you want to influence this automatic behavior. With the 'Rotate' function, you can fix the orientation for individual intermediate-dimension chains to one of the options 'automatic', 'perpendicular' or 'parallel'.
With the 'perpendicular' and 'horizontal' options, the automatic behavior for that dimension chain is disabled. The dimension numbers are then always displayed either perpendicular or horizontal. Dimension numbers will never overlap as they are spread apart again. You may need to move them further than in the other orientation. The automatic behavior can be re-enabled at any time for the affected dimension chain using the 'automatic' option.
