Working with the Point Cloud
Working with the Point Cloud
With the point cloud and its orthophotos, you can work in different model areas and further adjust the settings for them.
Point Cloud Settings DICAM
With the function 1-2-06 "Point Cloud Settings" or the middle icon, from the icon bar of the point cloud, you can adjust settings for the point cloud. This is about dot sizes and dot colors.
This allows you to set the display size of the dots in pixels and their color. Both for the 3D points in the OpenGl workspace and the points of the automatically generated orthophotos, which will be dealt with later.

Show/hide point cloud
The function 1-2-07 "Show/hide point cloud" can be used to show and hide the point cloud, as the function name suggests.
In general, it should be said that the point cloud is only visible in the OpenGL workspace!
Clipbox of the point cloud in DICAM
In the working planes, a clipbox can be set for point clouds. The clip box can be individually adjusted for each working level. In the global system level, the clipbox is not available.
In order to get a clipbox over the working planes, we first create a new horizontal working plane and use the layer of the global system.
Model area DICAM
9-2-5 "Working Plane Horizontal"
Position of the height Z on the origin
Alignment –> Simply confirm with the right mouse
Point for the origin -> Simply confirm with the mouse on the right
This creates the work layer and in the grid settings we find the input option for the clip box.
Mouse-right on the edge of the layer -> grid settings
Up to X = 8m
From Y = -5
In front of working plane = 1m
Check the box next to "Show orthophotos"

You can also enter negative values for before or after the work plane to move the clipping in front of or behind the work plane.
If we now select the function (9 – 2 – 03) or right-click on Change global system size, a prompt will appear whether we want to change the clipbox for the building or the point cloud. We select "Change clipbox for point cloud". The arrows can now be used to adjust the size graphically.
Mouse-right on the edge of the layer -> "Resize"
"Change clipbox for point cloud"
Click on the arrow and move it > confirm the new position with the mouse-left

Changing the size of the clip box using the arrows is entered in the grid settings. This also changes the size of the clip box and the thickness of the disc whose points are projected onto the orthophoto.
Snapping Points of the Point Cloud
If we now want to use the points of the point cloud in DICAM, we find that we cannot catch the points in the measurement function, for example. This prevents the unintentional snapping of the points of the point cloud during construction and drawing.
To snap points of the point cloud, the selection of temporary points has been extended to include the selection of the point cloud. Let's measure the height of the boarding platform of the stairs.
To snap points of the point cloud, the "G" key can be pressed during a function in which points are requested, or the option "Point of the point cloud" can be selected via the middle mouse button. So you can comfortably decide which point to catch for each point.
