Create Angles
Using the 'Create Angle' function, angle dimensions can be generated. A dialog box opens in which settings can be made. All other settings are configured beforehand via the dimensioning styles.
The following settings are available:
Color set: Since the color of angles changes more frequently or differs from the dimensioning style, it can be entered here independently of the dimensioning style. If the color 'FROM LAYER' is used, the angles receive the color of the current layer (see example above). Using the button at the right edge of the field opens the dialog box in which custom color sets can be defined.
Representation: There are two representations for angle dimensioning:
Without leader line: The angle consists of two short lines parallel to the dimensioned lines and an arc between these lines. The dimension value is placed outside the arc, parallel to the angle bisector between the two short line segments.
With leader line: In this case, a leader line composed of two line segments is generated in addition. The leader line kinks outside the arc. The angle and the length of the line segments can be freely modified using the 'Move' function.
When creating angles, two lines are clicked. The angle between the two lines is dimensioned. The order in which the lines are clicked is important. The angle is always measured counterclockwise from the first-clicked line to the second line. If the two clicked lines intersect, the clicked location also matters:
The numbers (red) indicate the order in which the lines were clicked. They also indicate the location at which the lines were clicked.
