Tutorial: Making Fascia Boards using Tool Paths

  1. Place your board on your drawing.

  2. Create Auxiliary Geometry on the board

    1. Draw your compound curve using lines and arcs in the appropriate location

    2. This geometry defines the path the tool will follow

    3. Position these elements on the reference side of your beam

  3. Call the Logic Block Function

    1. Use 7-8-1 "Insert logic blocks at points, objects"

    2. Select the logic block for "lines and arcs"

    3. Set the reference side for the board - usually "left" works well.

    4. Set the tool diameter

    5. Set the tool depth

  4. Select Points Along Your Geometry

    1. Click on the points along your compound curve in sequence

    2. By selecting the corresponding points, the processes are automatically created in the single beam info

    3. The processes are combined into a group

  5. You will be able to create a variety of fascia boards similar to the images below
