# Canopy Area - Move Line

The "Shift line" function allows an entire canopy area line to be moved. The lines of adjacent canopy area lines belonging to the same roof surface are correspondingly extended or shortened.

For this function, simply select the line to be moved. No additional points are required here, since the entire line is always moved. Next, the selected line can be moved graphically and placed at the desired position. All snap and input functions are available for this. After placing the line, a dialog box opens in which you can correct the position of the line once more. When any number is changed, the other numbers adjust automatically.

**Shift within the roof surface:** This value shows the distance of the new line to the old one, measured along the slope of the surface.

**Horizontal displacement:** This shows the displacement in plan from the old position to the new position of the line.

**Vertical displacement:** This value indicates the height difference between the old and the new position of the line.

**Elevation of the line:** This field displays the absolute elevation of the new line, measured from global 0.
