Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts speed up work. The faster a function is called, the faster the work is completed. By adapting keyboard commands to one’s own needs, function calls can be further optimized. The program contains two types of keyboard shortcuts.

Blue numbers

For the individual menus and functions there are small blue numbers. These numbers represent keyboard shortcuts. For example, in DICAM one can invoke the function "Copy" by entering 2-7-1.

These numbers cannot be changed; they are hard-coded. In return, the numbers are always fixed and identical in all languages.

Classical keyboard shortcuts using letters

Functions can also be invoked using classical keyboard shortcuts that consist of letters or combinations of letters with the keys "Ctrl", "Shift", "Alt". For example, in DICAM typing a "C" can invoke the function "Copy". Saving the position can be invoked with the Windows-typical Ctrl+S.

These keyboard shortcuts can be freely changed and supplemented by the user. To do this, call function 1-7-08 File - Settings - Keyboard Shortcuts open. Here you will find three groups of keyboard shortcuts.

Keyboard shortcuts for functions from the menu

For each function from the menu a keyboard shortcut can be set here. The program already provides various shortcuts. These can be changed or deleted as desired, and you can create your own keyboard shortcuts.

When creating a new keyboard shortcut the program closes and you graphically select the function from the menu for which you want to create a shortcut. Afterwards you specify the letter or the combination of letter and modifier key. The program provides support if a shortcut is already assigned.

Keyboard shortcuts for point entry 2D and 3D

The list of functions shown here is fixed and cannot be changed. Therefore entries cannot be deleted and no new ones can be created. It is, however, possible to change the keyboard shortcut itself if you want a different letter or a different combination of letter and modifier key.
