## System - Composite Elements

For the structure, the system of composite elements was developed:

* Composite elements consist of components, operations, drawing elements, dimensions, and labels that are linked by flexible rules.
* Inserted composite elements can be recalculated after changes to the building. For modification, the same options are available as for the initial insertion.
* Subsequent modification, moving, or deletion is possible for the composite element as a whole. In addition, the individual parts (solid, drawing elements, etc.) can also be edited with the usual functions provided for this purpose.
* By dissolving the composite element, a later recalculation can be prevented.
* The technology of composite elements allows individual customizations for your company without requiring any changes to the software (programming). With the appropriate module configuration, customizations of existing composite elements or the creation of new composite elements can be carried out by the user independently.
* The system of composite elements enables very efficient input to optimize the needs of the company and thus offers comprehensive possibilities for rationalization.

## Permissions for the composite elements system

* For the use, i.e. application, of many composite elements, authorization for the model area is sufficient. Thus, every user who has access to the floor plan model area can use the standard composite elements for furniture, installation fixtures, etc.
* For entering composite elements with the function 'DICAM - 7-8-1 at points, components', the module 'DICAM for carpenters' is required.
* For the use of specialized composite elements, it is necessary to purchase the corresponding module. Please contact your sales representative if you have corresponding requirements.
* Users with the full DICAM version can customize the supplied composite elements themselves and create completely new composite elements according to their needs.

Special notes:

In principle, composite elements only permit inputs for which the corresponding modules are also available:

* DICAM for carpenters for profiled cross-sections. Without DICAM for carpenters, an enclosing rectangular cross-section is generated.
* DICAM for carpenters or hardware module for fittings
* Users who do not have authorization for wall construction (DIWAND 3D) cannot create components whose axis lies completely within a wall.
* This restriction applies regardless of the input function: along the wall edge, in the plan, but also at window and door openings.
* This restriction applies regardless of the component type.
* However, users without DIWAND 3D can create and visualize furniture, sanitary elements, or electrical switches.

User for user:

* Users with the full DICAM version can customize the supplied composite elements themselves and create completely new composite elements according to their needs.
* You can also have the composite elements you created or modified used by other users.
* If a composite element requires a special module, this module dependency remains even after modification by a user.

## Composite elements in higher-level functions

Composite elements are moved, copied, mirrored, and stored in building libraries together with buildings. The following rules apply:

* Composite elements can belong to storeys, walls, or wall openings (windows, doors).
* If a composite element requires query bodies and not all query bodies are selected during the process, the entire composite element remains unconsidered.
* After mirroring, composite elements are automatically recalculated. They must then be checked, because mirroring changes the coordinate systems of components and the orientations of windows and doors.
* Composite elements cannot be handled in DICAM with the functions from the 'DICAM - 2 Edit' menu. These functions apply only to the individual solids: any modification is lost when the composite element is recalculated. The copies (copy, mirror) contain no information from the composite element. This also applies when an assembly is created in the composite element or read from the library: the copies contain no assembly information.

### Composite elements at windows and doors

Composite elements on windows and doors can now also be directly recalculated, modified, or deleted. For this purpose, it is no longer necessary to open the window or door for modification. The call can be made in the floor plan or wall construction.

* Direct recalculation with function 7-9-1 is useful, for example, when components at the windows need to be recalculated after HRB occupancy.
* Direct modification with '7-9-4 modify insertion' is used when, for example, only something on the shutters is to be changed.
* With 7-9-7, composite elements of windows and doors can also be removed directly.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.dietrichs.com/dietrichs-intelligent-documentation/docs-de-en/combined-elements/general.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
