# Material-dependent functions

In this dialog box, settings can be configured that apply to specific materials. To do this, enter the corresponding identification number of the material in the left column and select in the second column of the dialog box the functionality required for this material. In some cases, a value can/must be specified in the third column.

The following functionalities are available:

* **Blocking area:** A component with this identifier creates only a blocking area. No nailing is performed in the area of the blocking area, and the component itself is not transferred to the machine.\
In this analysis, it is checked whether the nail of the respective layer actually hits the blocking-area component. This means that here the depth position of the blocking-area component in the wall and the entered nail length have an influence. Only if the nail hits the blocking-area component is a blocking area created for the layer under consideration, and the row of nails is interrupted if necessary.
* **Material code:** Here, for all materials that are processed, the value corresponding to the respective identification number according to the machine manufacturer's specifications should be entered. In the third column, enter the material code that is to be transferred to the machine for this material.
* **is wall machining:** If, for example, a panel is located within another panel, a recess can be generated in the second panel by the first panel. The first panel is assigned a special identification number, which is entered here and the option 'is wall machining' is selected. The contour of the first panel is then transferred as machining. If a value in millimeters is specified in the 'Value' field, this value is used as the rounding. This makes it possible to transfer the corners of the panel with rounded edges. If the value corresponds to half the edge length of a square panel, a circular recess is created.\
In addition, the tool ID to be used for this machining can be entered in the 'Value' field. To do this, write the tool ID after the value for the corner rounding, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = is wall machining; Value = 20;15 for a corner radius of 20 mm and tool ID 15.
* **defines module:** Here, a group of components can be defined as a module (in the sense of Weinmann). To do this, place a panel in the wall that is as large as the entire module. This panel itself is not transferred to the machine, but all studs within the area of this panel are transferred as one module.
* **Panel nail spacing:** The material-dependent functionality 'Panel nail spacing' creates a corresponding nail spacing (the spacing is then entered under Value) for the panel whose identification number was entered on the left. If a specific nail spacing is required for a specific stud, this can be achieved with a separate functionality (see below).\
If, in addition to the nail spacing, the tool ID of the nailing head is also to be transferred, then write this ID after the nail spacing, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = Panel nail spacing, Value = 0.05;10 for a maximum nail spacing of 50 mm and tool ID 10.
* **Ignore component:** The component is not transferred to the machine.
* **Is built-in component:** This component is ignored in all analyses (e.g. determination of nail rows), but it is itself transferred to the machine with the Weinmann identifier "built-in component".
* **Transfers machining:** The machining of the components with the specified identification number is transferred to the machine. However, the component itself is not transferred; it has only served as a carrier for the machining.
* **Transfer machining (panels):** The machining of the components with the specified identification number is transferred to the machine. The component itself is also transferred and may also receive nail rows. This function only applies to panels; studs have their own machining function (see below).
* **is saw-cut wall machining**: With this option, machining is generated as with the option 'is wall machining', but a sawing command is always transferred.\
If a value in millimeters is specified in the 'Value' field, this value is used as the rounding. This makes it possible to transfer the corners of the recess with rounded edges. If the value corresponds to half the edge length of a square panel, a circular recess is created.\
In addition, the tool ID to be used for this machining can be entered in the 'Value' field. To do this, write the tool ID after the value for the corner rounding, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = is saw-cut wall machining; Value = 20;15 for a corner radius of 20 mm and tool ID 15.
* **is milled wall machining**: With this option, machining is generated as with the option 'is wall machining', but milling is always transferred.\
Example: Functionality = is milled wall machining; Value = 20;15 for a corner radius of 20 mm and tool ID 15.
* **Transfer machining (studs)**: With this function, machining on studs can be transferred. The component itself is also transferred and may also receive nail rows. This function is particularly useful when a beam framing station is in use. This way, the station knows where stud machining is located and does not attempt to clamp in the area of a half-lap.
* **Nail spacing (stud)**: With this function, a special nail spacing can also be generated for a stud with a specific identification number. As always with this function, enter the desired identification number in the 'Identification number' field, then assign the functionality and enter the desired nail spacing in the 'Value' field.\
If, in addition to the nail spacing, the tool ID of the nailing head is also to be transferred, then write this ID after the nail spacing, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = Nail spacing (stud), Value = 0.05;10 for a maximum nail spacing of 50 mm and tool ID 10.
* **Do not nail panel**: With this function, the panels with the entered identification number are excluded from nailing. The panels are transferred to the machine as usual, but do not receive any nail rows.
* **Is saw slot**: With this function, a single saw slot is generated. To do this, enter any component and the program generates a saw slot along the axis of this component. The saw depth is determined by the thickness of the component.
* **Is milling path**: As with the saw slot, a milling path is generated along the axis of the component. The depth is also determined here by the thickness of the component. The milling cutter index can be set in two ways. If a number from 1-9 is specified in the 'Value' field of the dialog box for the material-dependent functions, this is used as the milling cutter index. If no number is entered there, the milling cutter index is taken from the tool settings.
* **Transfer polygon points**: With this function, the polygon points for panels are transferred to the machine. To date, Weinmann uses these polygon points only for the Isofloc blowing-in panel.
* **Is marking**: As with the saw slot or milling path, a marking is generated along the axis of the component.
* **Nail spacing for stud (positive layers)**: The desired nail spacing is entered in the Value field. This nail spacing then has a higher priority than the nail spacing from the normal nailing setting. All panels from positive layers (+1 to +7) that are nailed to the stud with this identification number will receive the nail spacing configured here.\
If, in addition to the nail spacing, the tool ID of the nailing head is also to be transferred, then write this ID after the nail spacing, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = Nail spacing stud (positive layers), Value = 0.05;10 for a maximum nail spacing of 50 mm and tool ID 10.
* **Nail spacing for stud (negative layers)**: The desired nail spacing is entered in the Value field. This nail spacing then has a higher priority than the nail spacing from the normal nailing setting. All panels from negative layers (-1 to -7) that are nailed to the stud with this identification number will receive the nail spacing configured here.\
If, in addition to the nail spacing, the tool ID of the nailing head is also to be transferred, then write this ID after the nail spacing, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = Nail spacing stud (negative layers), Value = 0.05;10 for a maximum nail spacing of 50 mm and tool ID 10.
* **Transfer only blocking areas from machining**: This functionality applies to studs and panels. For the components with the entered identification number, not the machining is transferred as with the functionality 'Transfer machining', but only the associated blocking areas.
* **Stud without nailing**: Studs with the identification number entered here will not receive a nail row. If nothing is entered in the 'Value' field, this applies to all panels from all layers. However, if one or more groups are specified in the 'Value' field, then this applies only to these groups; only these groups will not receive nailing. All other panels from other groups will still be nailed. Multiple groups are entered separated by a slash (/). (2/3/4)
* **Transfer blocking area and component**: As described above, there is the functionality 'Blocking area'. This generates a blocking area for a component, but the component itself is not transferred. With the option 'Transfer blocking area and component', a blocking area is also generated, but the component itself is also transferred.
* **Panel width for machining right layer edge**: With the functionality 'Panel width for machining right layer edge', machining (saw cut, milling) can be switched on or off at the right, vertical layer edge depending on a panel width. There are cases where machining of the right layer edge is generally enabled. However, if the last panel is a full panel, the saw cut can be omitted. The panel width that is considered a full panel width is set in the 'Value' field.
* **Is insulation**: With this functionality, the postprocessor can be informed that the corresponding material is insulation. This has no effect on Weinmann and BTL transfer, as there is no separate insulation object there. However, for BTLx and Cambium, the corresponding insulation object can be transferred.
* **Combine components**: With this functionality, studs or panels can be combined lengthwise. The program searches the layer with the specified material and combines all studs or panels lengthwise that have the same cross-section and lie exactly in one line. The entered value is taken into account as the maximum distance. As soon as the distance between the two components is greater than the entered value, they are not combined. The angle of the components is irrelevant; angled components are also combined as long as they lie exactly in one line.
* **Panel nail spacing on stud**: This functionality generates nailing from panel to stud, even if panel-to-panel nailing has been defined for the panels in the same layer.\
The desired nail spacing is entered in the Value field. This nail spacing then has a higher priority than the nail spacing from the normal nailing setting.\
If, in addition to the nail spacing, the tool ID of the nailing head is also to be transferred, then write this ID after the nail spacing, separated by a semicolon.\
Example: Functionality = Panel nail spacing on stud, Value = 0.05;10 for a maximum nail spacing of 50 mm and tool ID 10.
* **Is adhesive tape**: As with the saw slot or milling path, adhesive tape (tape) is generated along the axis of the component. In the 'Value' field, the material can be specified for this purpose. For Weinmann, this is only a number (1, 2, 3). For all other machines, enter the name of the tape and then the width of the tape. For Cambium, the front overhang, rear overhang, and a transverse offset can also be entered. All values are separated by semicolons. See also the table for the next functionality 'Find panel joints'.
* **Find panel joints**: With this functionality, the program searches for all panel joints in a specified layer. At these joints, adhesive tapes are generated and displayed in the graphic. Since an adhesive tape is generated for each joint, very many short adhesive tape lines can be created that lie directly one behind the other. These can be automatically combined into a long adhesive tape strip. To do this, enter, among other things, a maximum distance in the 'Value' field. All collinear adhesive tapes with a smaller distance are combined into one long adhesive tape.\
A whole range of parameters can be specified in the 'Value' field; these vary depending on the machine type. Not all parameters are available for all machines. The parameters not used are marked with a dash in the table:<br>
