Cross-Section Correction for Chamfers

If you hand over bars with chamfers or fillets to the machine, these bars very often have an irregular cross-section; at least the bar height is irregular (for example 16x21.53). If you then place a larger bar on the machine (for example 16x22), the machine will generate an error message.

However, the software cannot know what the bar size on the machine will be. To prevent such handovers from causing error messages, you enter the desired bar height (or width) in the volume info within the program. This can be done via the volume info dialog box or via the volume info palette. There are two fields there for correcting the bar width and bar height. The bars in the structure retain their original dimensions; the entered width or height is used only for the machine handover and for the handover to the material list.
