# Recalculate Roof Layout

The “Recalculate” function re-centers all roof outlines and, if necessary, trims them against each other. If deformations of the roof surfaces were previously applied using the roof surface design functions, this can have varying effects:

As a rule, a roof is re-centered because one has changed roof attributes (roof pitch, roof overhang, eave height). These changes result in different shapes of one or more roof surfaces. If a roof surface changes shape due to these adjustments of the roof attributes, it also loses its deformation produced by the roof design functions. However, if the shape of a roof surface does not change as a result of the new centering, it retains its additional deformation from the roof design functions.
