# HILTI - P2P

The HILTI P2P can be inserted very easily into roofs, walls, and ceilings. For this purpose, special combination elements are available in the model areas wall construction, ceiling construction, and roof. Access is always via the menu:

* Wall construction: 7-8-2 / 3 "on the front side" or "on the back side".
* Ceiling construction: 7-8-2 in the base
* Roof: 7-8-6 in roof surface

A few settings can be made in the dialog box:

**Select type:** For the P2P, two sizes can be selected.

**Wall structure before insertion:** This field exists only in wall construction. Add up the thickness of the outer layers from layer -7 to -1 when entering the P2P on the front side. When entering on the back side of the wall, add up the thickness of the layers from 7 to 1.

**Thickness of layers 0 to 7:** This field exists only in ceiling construction. Add up the thickness of the layers from 7 through layer 0, since we are, so to speak, coming from below and want to enter the fittings on the top side of layer 0.

**Start distance:** The fittings are distributed along a line. The "start distance" is the distance from the first point of the line to the first fitting.

**End distance:** The fittings are distributed along a line. The "end distance" is the distance from the end point of the line to the last fitting.

**max. spacing:** Here, enter the distance between the fittings. The entered distance is a maximum value. The program automatically calculates the next smaller distance with which the fittings can be distributed evenly along the line.

**Machining depth:** The machining depth can optionally be taken automatically from the selected fitting type, or a fixed value can be entered.

**Tool width:** The tool width is required to calculate the contour toolpaths. Depending on how the machining is transferred to the machine, the tool width may or may not be relevant. For machine transfer, there is the choice between a contour path, in which case the tool width must match the tool on the machine, or an extrusion body. For an extrusion body, the tool width is not relevant, since the complete geometry is transferred to the machine and the machine calculates the toolpaths itself according to the tool.

**Exit from component:** This value is also only relevant if the toolpaths are transferred to the machine as a contour path. When transferred as an extrusion body, the machine calculates this itself.
