The list of recent commands

Very often one must invoke the same command again or there are multiple commands that need to be invoked repeatedly. The very last command can be recalled at any time via the plus key on the numeric keypad. There are several ways to open the list of recent commands:

  • Pressing the space bar on the keyboard opens the list of recent commands

  • The arrow keys on the keyboard also open the list of recent commands. If you use the down arrow you can scroll down the list directly with the arrow key.

  • If you press the right mouse button and drag the mouse slightly downward while holding the button, the list of recent commands will also open. This allows you to keep your hand on the mouse and select the desired function directly with the mouse.

The list of recent commands has the following characteristics:

  • The last command appears at the top, and the further back a command was executed, the lower it appears in the list.

  • The icons preceding each function call assist in finding the correct function when functions with similar or even identical names have been invoked.

  • The list is generated separately for each model area so that each model area has a list of the appropriate functions available.

  • The list is saved so that it remains available after exiting the program and restarting it.
