Master Data - Cost Centers
In this table, cost centers can be entered using their cost center number and a designation. Assignments to the cost centers are made via the cost center number; the designation serves only as an aid for selection.
Measurement elements can be assigned to individual cost centers. This allows the measurement item lists to be sorted by cost centers. If the data are, for example, transferred to downstream systems via CSV export, analyses regarding the cost centers can then be performed there. These can be direct cost allocations or times for capacity planning.
[Reconciliation of the cost centers in projects with the cost centers of the master data:]{.underline}
The reconciliation takes place automatically; the reference is always the cost center number:
- When a project database is opened, the cost centers of the project and master database are compared automatically.
- If there is a cost center number in the master data that does not yet exist in the project data, it will be newly created in the project data.
- If the master data contains the same cost center number but with a different cost center designation, the cost center designation from the master data will be adopted and overwrite the one in the project data.
- If there is a cost center number in the project data but not in the master data, it will be checked whether there are still references to this cost center number. If there are no more references, it will be deleted.
